It was probably the most overtly political assertion made at this Oscars ceremony to this point, one which started on the pink carpet for Bardem.

Bardem is sporting two notable pins: A big panel with bloody textual content studying “No a la guerra” (Spanish for “no to war”), and a round pin studying “Palestine,” together with the picture of younger boy, Handala, a personality created in 1969 by cartoonist Naji al-Ali who has turn out to be an emblem of Palestinian resistance.
On the pink carpet, Bardem instructed the Associated Press that the “No a la guerra” pin is similar one he wore to the Oscars in 2003 to protest “the illegal Iraq war.”
“[The Oscars] is a great opportunity to say things like ‘no to war, no to this illegal war that [is] creating so many deaths,'” he stated.
