A Message from DMU Imam and Muslim Chaplain Mohammed Laher

We wish to want all college students celebrating Eid a really joyful Eid Mubarak.
Eid al-Fitr, known as the ‘Festival of Opening the Fast’, features a feast signifying the top of Ramadan, which is a month of religious reflection, prayer, fasting, charitable acts and sharing meals. Eid is well known for a number of days, starting on Friday 20 March 2026, topic to affirmation, relying on the sighting of the crescent moon.
On the day of Eid, Muslims will get up early to hope at a mosque or open areas akin to a park. Eid is a time for household and buddies to get collectively, sporting good garments, having fun with food and drinks and sharing presents.
Imam Mohammed Laher stated:
“Eid is a joyous occasion where friends and family get together to celebrate, including having a meal. It is also a time for increased compassion and giving to those in need. Please enjoy your celebrations and I would like to wish all students and staff at DMU, a very happy Eid Mubarak.”
