“As ladies who usually spend their weekends up the fells, it’s at all times an amazing consolation to know that Mountain Rescue groups are on standby if we run into any bother, and we wish to assist help them in any approach that we are able to.
“We would therefore greatly appreciate any donations you can make to support the annual costs of the Keswick Mountain Rescue Team.”
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team contains 45 members, all unpaid volunteers, who can be found always of the day and evening in any climate, three hundred and sixty five days per 12 months, to help these in misery and misplaced on the mountains of the northern Lake District.
Currently, they attend about 136 rescues a 12 months.
Chloe Jardine mentioned: “We initially decided to do it as a challenge for ourselves, but we thought that whilst we were doing it, we could do something to raise money for charity.
“We all go strolling in the fells usually, so it made sense to increase cash for the mountain rescue service.
“We’re out pretty much every weekend walking the fells in the Lake District and Cumbria.
“We’ve raised cash for charity in the previous as part of a bigger group, however that is our first time doing a charity fundraiser as such a small group.”
The group has set up a JustGiving web page the place members of the general public are welcome to donate.
