A County Durham cultural initiative is celebrating St George’s Day with every week of family-friendly occasions throughout the area.
Durham County Council has organised every week of family-friendly actions throughout the county, centred round April 23, to mark England’s patron saint.
Libraries are internet hosting themed shows, storytelling and LEGO classes, encouraging youngsters to create purple and white designs.
Social media exercise can be supporting the celebrations, sharing photographs and details all through the week.
At The Story, guests can participate in craft workshops, together with creating St George’s Cross flags, alongside free spotlight talks exploring the lifetime of native Victoria Cross recipient George Bradford, who was born and died on St George’s Day.
Evening illuminations will see key venues, together with Durham Town Hall and Bishop Auckland Town Hall, lit in purple and white.
Celebrations will proceed into the weekend in Durham City, with leisure together with dragon performances, avenue acts and medieval-themed actions designed to entice households and guests.
