The incident at Roundhill campsite close to Brockenhurst is known to have occurred over the weekend, sparking recent warnings to not strategy or contact free-roaming animals.
Andrew Parry-Norton, of the New Forest Commoners Defence Association, stated he was saddened by the incident and sympathised with the kid and their household.
He stated: “We don’t want this to happen to anybody.”
Mr Parry-Norton stated individuals should keep a safe distance from New Forest ponies.
He stated the affiliation weren’t being “killjoys” or awkward by asking guests to avoid going close to or touching the ponies.
He added: “It is an appalling factor to occur to anyone and it’s one thing we’ve to consider, which we’re doing.
“We have gotten to attempt to get this message out one way or the other higher than what we’re doing.
He stated: “Our deepest sympathy to the family.”
Thousands of free-roaming ponies dwell within the New Forest, and guests are warned not to approach, feed or attempt to pet the animals as a result of startled or threatened animals can react unpredictably.
Hampshire Police said two children had been kicked by ponies in the New Forest throughout the summer time of 2025.
