Professor Brian Cox has revealed BBC bosses went into meltdown when he tried to contact aliens during filming.
The physicist was engaged on his present Stargazing with Dara Ó Briain once they determined to fireside indicators at distant planets for fun. But BBC executives did not see the humorous aspect and frantically known as Cox asking what would occur if extra-terrestrials truly responded.
“We had a panicked phone call from the BBC going, ‘What if we actually hear something? Because we don’t know what the regulations are,'” Cox revealed on Radio X’s The Chris Moyles Show.
The nervous bosses even tried to cease the experiment altogether. “It was really weird! They go, ‘You can’t do that,'” Cox defined, including that no one knew who to contact if aliens made contact.
Cox joked that “the Vatican” might need been his first port of name if little inexperienced males had picked up the cellphone.
