Boys, 10 and 13, in Royal Stoke after struck by car

Police are taking motion towards a driver

Police have reported a motorist after two boys have been left in hospital following a collision at a busy metropolis junction. Cops and paramedics had been despatched to Weston Coyney following studies of a collision involving a car and two younger cyclists.

The incident, on the junction of Weston Road and Park Hall Road, left two boys, aged 10 and 13, in the Royal Stoke University Hospital. Now Staffordshire Police have confirmed a 29-year-old man, of Colchester, has been reported for driving with out due care and consideration.

The collision occurred at round 4.45pm on Sunday – with the highway blocked till round 6.25pm.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service stated: “We were called on Sunday to a road traffic collision involving a car and two cyclists at the junction of Weston Road and Park Hall Road in Weston Coyney. One ambulance attended the scene. Upon arrival we found two male children who were the cyclists. The two children were assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained injuries not believed to be serious. They were conveyed to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for further assessment.”

A spokeswoman for Staffordshire Police said: “We have been referred to as following studies of a collision. Two boys, aged 10 and 13, have been concerned in a collision with a car. They have been assessed by paramedics on the scene and taken to hospital for additional therapy. Their accidents should not believed to be critical. The driver of the car, a 29-year-old man, from Colchester, remained on the scene and has been reported for driving with out due care and consideration. Our inquiries are persevering with. Anyone with data, CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage ought to contact us.”
