Prince William pays tribute to army medic found dead at barracks

After becoming a member of the Army eight years in the past, Wilde was with the Welsh Guards till December 2025 earlier than transferring to the Royal Yorkshire Regiment.

In a prolonged tribute, the Welsh Guards mentioned she had “a rare ability to lift those around her” and her loss could be felt “across the battalion and far beyond”.

Her former regiment highlighted her bravery when she attended an incident within the Falkland Islands which noticed car overturning and leaving a number of Welsh Guards injured. She recevied a commendation.

“Lucy was first on the scene and worked relentlessly to treat casualties and ensure every guardsman was accounted for and safe,” the regiment mentioned.

“Her actions that day were nothing short of outstanding, and she was rightly commended for her courage and professionalism.”
