“Each and every day in the U.S. Senate, I’m fighting hard for our values, our people, and our state. Nothing is more important to me than growing opportunity in Alabama, and I am so fortunate to have such outstanding state partners who share this goal and actively communicate the needs and priorities of their communities. From working to bring Space Command to its rightful home in Huntsville, to advocating for and securing Birmingham-Southern College as our Coast Guard’s new training center, to championing commerce at the Port of Mobile and seeing it become the deepest port on the Gulf of America, to supporting Eli Lilly’s $6 billion investment in Huntsville, I’m dedicated to strengthening Alabama’s future. I’ve also directly secured more than $456 million in federal funding for projects across our state to support our military installations, invest in roads and bridges that connect Alabamians, and provide critical resources for our rural communities. I have fought tirelessly for our state, and our work is just getting started. I am honored to receive the Hometown Heroes Award as I continue to ensure that every room I’m in, Alabama has a strong seat at the table,” stated Senator Britt upon receiving this award.

Senator Britt has labored to safe over $456 million in federal funding for Alabama priorities, from medical and analysis tools to up to date roads and waterways. She is proud to have ushered in new workforce investments and stronger partnerships with universities and schools throughout the state. She will proceed to work alongside native and state companions to make sure communities throughout the state have the sources they should thrive.
