Scenes from morning skate: Toloplio begins, Höglander sits for Canucks vs. Predators

What we noticed

Ahead of final week’s commerce deadline, Nashville parted with forwards Michael McCarron, Michael Bunting and Cole Smith, together with defenceman Nick Blankenburg.
Nanaimo native Matthew Wood sits seventh in rookie objective scoring within the NHL this season with 13 targets in 53 video games. He is fourth on the Preds in objective scoring behind Steven Stamkos, Filip Forsberg and Ryan O’Reilly.

The Canucks and Predators have cut up their two video games this season – each performed in Music City. The Preds posted a 2-1 win on October twenty third whereas the Canucks triumphed 5-4 in additional time on Brock Boeser’s game-winner on November third.
