FAA halts flights in DC region due to strong smell at Potomac air traffic controller

The cease was was a results of a strong smell at the Potomac Consolidated Terminal Radar Approach Center (TRACON) in Virginia, the FAA confirmed with WJZ.

The Potomac TRACON is chargeable for air traffic management companies to Baltimore and different regional airports.

The maintain was introduced at 6:32 p.m. and listed as due to “environmental” causes.

Ronald Reagan National Airport, Dulles International Airport, and different close by airports, together with Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport and Richmond International Airport in Virginia, had been all affected.

This comes as vacationers face long lines at the airport due to the partial authorities shutdown, which continues to halt paychecks for TSA staff.
