The Miami Dolphins entered the offseason with a number of defensive backs set to hit the market, and after Kader Kohou accepted a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, a second member of the secondary departed on Friday.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Dolphins security Elijah Campbell is signing a one-year deal with the New York Giants.
Campbell, 30, initially entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Cleveland Browns in 2018 after a collegiate profession cut up between Iowa Western Community College, Northern Illinois and Northern Iowa.
After spending 2019 and 2020 within the AAF and UFL, Campbell returned for the 2020 NFL season with the New York Jets and has performed for the Dolphins since 2021. In 65 video games over his 5 years in Miami, he is been a constant particular groups contributor, racking up 45 tackles, two passes defensed, one compelled fumble and one fumble restoration.
Without Campbell, Miami’s security room now consists of Lonnie Johnson, Dante Trade, Zayne Anderson, Jordan Colbert and Omar Brown.
