An replace has been issued on the search for two lacking men last seen heading towards a beach. A major search and rescue operation was launched after the men, named Simon and Connor, disappeared on Tuesday evening near a Haven holiday park.
They have been last seen near the beach close to Hafan-y-Mor, Pwllheli, on the Llyn Peninsula. The pair have been believed to be heading towards the coast with inflatable kayaks.
Major searches have been happening with police supported by Coastguard groups and the RNLI.
A Coastguard replace issued at the moment (Friday) mentioned their involvement within the search was stood down yesterday (Thursday).
A spokesperson mentioned: “At 12.19pm yesterday (Thursday 23 July), HM Coastguard was called to assist North Wales Police with a search for two overdue kayakers at Pwllheli, North Wales.
“Coastguard Rescue Teams from Criccieth, Abersoch and Llandwrog have been despatched, together with RNLI lifeboats from Criccieth and Abersoch, an HM Coastguard Search and Rescue Helicopter and a Coastguard aeroplane.
“Extensive searches were conducted, and with no trace of missing people, stood down pending further information at around 10.21pm.”
In an extra replace at the moment, North Wales Police confirmed the two men stay lacking, with searches persevering with.
A spokesperson for Haven mentioned: “We are helping the police with their search.”
