The space of excessive strain that has saved issues largely dry during the last week remains to be near the UK.
However, a zone of chilly air excessive within the environment has been drifting overhead inflicting instability, permitting shower clouds to bubble up.
This will prime up rain gauges in some places but there will likely be gaps in between which means some locations will keep largely or utterly dry.
There are elements of the UK that might do with some rain.
Up till Monday morning, Cambridge and Bedford had each acquired solely 2% of their common April rainfall.
In distinction, Tiree (Inner Hebrides) has had a wetter month than regular with 171% of its typical rainfall, and Katesbridge (Co. Down) has acquired 113% of its common April quantity.
These cloudy, damp situations will linger for some on Tuesday morning – but the day will flip more and more sunny as excessive strain reasserts itself to the north of the UK.
A brisk easterly breeze will develop in southern England and south Wales.
The highest temperatures are more likely to be present in Northern Ireland and Scotland with highs of 17-19C (63-66F).
