Moses Itauma will return to the ring on July 25. The rising heavyweight star is set to battle at the O2 arena in London together with his opponent but to be confirmed.
It would be the 21-year-old’s first bout since he blasted his manner into world championship rivalry with a shocking demolition of American gatekeeper Jermaine Franklin.
That victory noticed the WBO announce that Itauma would change into the obligatory challenger for his or her heavyweight world title.
WBO heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley defends that title in opposition to Daniel Dubois on May 9.
While Itauma will not battle the winner in his subsequent bout, if he passes his upcoming check on July 25 he will likely be within the body for a world title problem.
Wardley and Itauma are gym-mates and so a title conflict with Dubois appeals extra to Itauma.
Itauma beforehand instructed Sky Sports: “If Fabio wins then it’s going to be sticky but when Dubois wins, then that battle is sensible.
“So we’ll see.”
Both Wardley and Dubois have been ringside observers for Itauma’s devastating victory over Franklin.
“I don’t think they’re worried. I think they’re both like ‘Oh [wow]. This guy’s in my division,'” Itauma mentioned.
“I think deep inside they probably both had the same reaction. I think Fabio managed to, I guess, hide it a bit better.”
