The Detroit Tigers are calling up considered one of their top prospects.
The Tigers on Friday known as up infielder Hao-Yu Lee from Triple-A Toledo to exchange infielder Zach McKinstry, who was positioned on the 10-day injured record with left hip/stomach irritation. The transfer is retroactive to April 16.
McKinstry exited Wednesday night’s game against the Royals forward of the eighth inning of a 2-1 victory after getting twisted up a couple of occasions with the Royals’ Jac Caglianone.
Lee, 23, in the meantime, is in line to make his major-league debut. He was acquired by the Tigers in an August 2023 trade that despatched beginning pitcher Michael Lorenzen to the Philadelphia Phillies.
