The “mystery vinyl” with pitched-down vocals that’s arrived in record stores forward of this weekend’s Record Store Day has turned out to characteristic a brand new track by Lewis Capaldi.

Shops in the UK and US, together with Rough Trade, lately received a brand new cargo of “mystery” data, that are pressed on vinyl and comprise no artist title or title. The cowl is a plain white sleeve, and there is nothing printed on the record itself revealing which artist it belongs to.
The packing containers of vinyl have been free for patrons to take, although certainly one of them ended up on eBay for £2,500. Some have shared on-line that staff have described it as a sneak preview of a brand new track from “a major artist” which is set to be launched correctly quickly.

Capaldi has now confirmed that he was behind the stunt by posting a TikTookay of him lip-syncing to the track’s correct studio recording: “So when the rights are going fallacious/And I’m barely holding on/Baby hear me once I say/Oh gained’t you keep love/When all people’s leaving/Come on, keep love/To get me via the night.“
The track continued: “Oh I pray love/That you’ll always be the one/And when the road gets rough/Don’t give up on us/And this could stay love.”
“hope you don’t hate this song as much as I hate watching my self lip syncing to it,” Capaldi quipped in the caption.
