Sam West introduces Ade Edmondson to birding in first look at new series

All Creatures Great and Small star Samuel West and actor Adrian Edmondson are heading off on some weekend adventures across the nation to spot and have a good time Britain’s lovely birds in a model new three-part series.

Kicking off tomorrow (14 April), the nice associates set off on a spectacular birdwatching quest throughout the British Isles. For West, birding is a long-standing ardour of his and for Edmondson, the passion is one thing new – and West is exhibiting him the ropes.

In an unique clip shared with Radio Times, the long-time associates are seen strolling alongside searching for a standard firecrest and a goldcrest, the latter of which West shares has the burden of 5 taking part in playing cards.

The pair proceed their travels as they spot firecrests, however Edmondson takes a while to modify to the binoculars and work out how to be speedy sufficient to spot the birds.

Elsewhere in the episode, West introduces Edmondson to birding on the wild coast of West Cornwall, the place autumn storms can deliver uncommon transatlantic guests.

The pair begin their journey at Hayle Estuary, as Edmondson will get to grips with egrets, wigeon and curlews, earlier than heading to the rugged Kenidjack Valley in search of misplaced American birds – although it is a tiny firecrest and a pleasant robin that steal the present.

But it’s not all in regards to the birds. Edmondson’s love of cooking and a pint signifies that picnics and pubs are simply as important to the success of the journey – and there is lots over the following few episodes!
