April 7 (Reuters) – Intel mentioned on Tuesday it might join Elon Musk’s Terafab AI chip advanced project alongside with SpaceX, Tesla and xAI.
Last month, Musk mentioned his rocket firm SpaceX – which just lately merged together with his social media and artificial intelligence firm xAI – and EV agency Tesla would construct two superior chip factories at a sprawling facility in Austin, Texas, one to energy vehicles and humanoid robots and one other designed for AI knowledge facilities in house.
SpaceX, which confidentially filed for a U.S. preliminary public providing final week, plans a market launch later this 12 months.
“Our ability to design, fabricate, and package ultra-high-performance chips at scale will help accelerate Terafab’s aim to produce 1 terawatt per year of compute to power future advances in AI and robotics,” Intel mentioned in a submit on social media platform X.
