Grab a free ride and ‘Hop Around Evanston’ this spring

Northwestern University college students, school and employees, in addition to Evanston residents and guests, have free entry to a new shuttle service this spring.

Riders can take within the eating places, pubs and galleries on Central Street and Main Street, or go to landmarks such because the Grosse Point Lighthouse and the Ladd Arboretum and Evanston Ecology Center, every Saturday night from April 4 to June 20.

Hop Around Evanston” is a pilot program sponsored by Northwestern and co-hosted with the Evanston Chamber of Commerce.

Using the University’s hybrid electrical bus fleet, shuttle riders can journey a loop stretching north to Central Street, south to Howard Street, east to Chicago Avenue and west to Dodge Avenue.

Whether you’re a pupil, worker, resident or customer — all are welcome, stated EL Da’ Sheon Nix, director of group relations at Northwestern.

“Now that warmer weather has returned, this is a great opportunity to get out and explore, check out a small business or grab a meal in one of Evanston’s many great neighborhoods.”
