Iran’s supreme chief has rejected proposals for decreasing tensions or
for a ceasefire with the US, a senior Iranian official has stated.
Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei was “very tough and serious” about his place on the US and Israel in his first overseas coverage
session, stated the official, who spoke anonymously to the Reuters information company.
The supreme
chief stated on the assembly it was not “the appropriate time for peace till the
United States and Israel are dropped at their knees, settle for
defeat, and pay compensation”, in response to the official.
The official didn’t make clear whether or not Khamenei attended the session in individual.
For context: Iran’s overseas minister stated on Sunday that Khamenei was in good well being, after Donald Trump had commented on the supreme chief: “I don’t know if he’s even alive.”
The US has stated he was injured in the identical strikes that killed his father, Iran’s former supreme chief Ali Khamenei.
