André Onana devoted Trabzonspor’s Süper Lig victory over Rizespor to the reminiscence of assistant coach Orhan Kaynak, who handed away earlier in the week. The Cameroonian goalkeeper opened up about the emotional weight the squad carried into the fixture.
“This match was special for us in every way. We lost our coach at the start of the week. After hearing this sad news, it wasn’t easy to play this match for the city. Winning for him was very important. We have suffered a painful loss. He was always there and a great support during training sessions at the club. His passing has deeply affected everyone, but today’s victory has brought a little joy to our supporters, even if only a little. We dedicate this victory to our coach.”

Onana defined that regardless of the grief surrounding the staff, the gamers discovered the motivation to battle on the pitch, decided to honour the man who had been a relentless presence and supply of help.
