Doncaster Rovers 0-1 Stockport County: Oliver Norwood seals EFL Trophy final spot

Doncaster Rovers supervisor Grant McCann advised Radio Sheffield:

“They were too good for us in the first half. Way too good for us. They were more physical than us, picked up more second balls than us, ran more than us, they had more pace in their team than us.

“We have conceded off one thing we all know Oli Norwood is actually good at, and we prepped the gamers on that. We stated ‘Don’t give any low cost free-kicks away’ after which we do after which we aren’t courageous sufficient within the wall.

“I was delighted to get in at 1-0. It could have been four or five in the first-half, the amount of chances they had.

“At Rotherham I made three modifications, Saturday I used to be serious about two or three modifications, and tonight I’ve made 4 [at half-time], and that is one thing we have to take a look at – the explanation why we’re beginning video games so gradual. why we don’t get out of the blocks fast sufficient.

“Second half we were better – we were more competitive – although we lacked that little bit of quality to get that goal. We didn’t do enough tonight to get ourselves into the final.”
