Connor McDavid’s dad and mom are ‘excited, optimistic, anxious, nervous’, identical to everybody else
Connor McDavid’s dad and mom are in the crowd. They had espresso with him yesterday and his mom Kelly says it was the most relaxed she’d seen him since they arrived in Milan.
“He’s feeling great, he looks great and we had some really good quality time with him,” she advised CBC.
McDavid’s father Brian mentioned his son was 13 when Sidney Crosby scored the golden objective at the 2010 Vancouver Games and had watched that game together with his teammates at the time.
“Sid was his idol,” Brian McDavid mentioned.
“Here we are today and it’s unfortunate Sid’s not playing and [Connor] gets to be the captain, but you can’t put that into words. It’s just been an amazing, amazing experience.”
Connor McDavid mentioned yesterday he was simply borrowing Crosby’s seat as captain.
“I’d say we’re feeling just like everybody else: pins and needles, excited, optimistic, anxious, nervous,” his father mentioned. “Let’s go Canada!”
