A psychiatrist with Delaware’s Nemours Children’s Health resigned following his testimony within the Lindsay Clancy homicide trial, an official with the well being system confirmed.
Avram Mack was a witness for the prosecution who evaluated Clancy forward of the trial. He testified within the Plymouth, Massachusetts, courtroom on Aug. 21 and remotely by way of Zoom on Aug. 24.
“Avram Mack is no longer employed by Nemours Children’s Health, he resigned on Monday, August 24th,” Nemours spokesperson Shelley Meadowcroft stated in an e-mail.
The Patriot Ledger, which is overlaying the trial, reported Mack advised jurors he believed Clancy understood what she was doing to her kids was mistaken.
Clancy is charged with three counts of first-degree homicide within the deaths of her kids: 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and 8-month-old Callan.
Mack testified that he noticed no proof of psychosis in Clancy’s medical data and he wouldn’t have identified her as bipolar, reported the Patriot Ledger, a part of the USA TODAY Network.
Clancy’s protection lawyer Kevin Reddington reportedly had a contentious cross-examination of Mack over the definition of “postpartum depression.”
The jury started deliberations Aug. 27 however was dismissed for the weekend.
